Fiber Anatomy

Knowing what you're holding matters. Hover or tap a layer to see what it does and why you treat it the way you do.

Out

Bare glass is only about 125 µm across — thinner than a human hair. Bend it too sharply, scratch it, or even just touch it with a finger, and the splice will suffer. Treat stripped fiber like a surgical instrument.
